Western Equality Has Moved
Western Equality now has a new home. We have moved into office spaces owned by The Center for Independance. The new address is 740 Gunnison Ave Suite 212. Feel free to come by for a visit. We are on the office suite side and still upstairs but they are a lot easier to handle than our previous office. The phone and fax number remain the same. Also out mailing address is still the same post office box.
WestCAP Benefit
Come join us and suport WestCAP. This event will be held at Tenacious Brothers Pub July 23rd from 8 PM to 2 AM. A $5 cover. Music by Charles King with DJ Rymble.
Townhall Meeting
The ED from One Colorado Education Fund will be here in Grand Junction to talk to the community aboout the results and where we will go from here. Pleas come to the Center For Independance on Thursday July 29 at 7 PM. The meeting will be held in the auditorium in the back of the building. The entrance is on the parking lot side of the building.
One Colorado Survey Results Updated
Did you know that more than 186,000 LGBT individuals live in Colorado,including 12,000 transgender people. The Census showed that same-sex couples live in 62 of Colorado’s 64 counties.
The survey has been expanded to show each region in Colorado Check out this and many other interesting facts that through the One Colorado Education Fund Survey.
Western Equality Now Has Nonprofit Status
After a long process Western Equality has received its long-awaited nonprofit status with the help of many people. Western Equality received a 501(c)(3) determination from the IRS. What this means is that Western Equality's fiscal agent is no longer The Western Colorado Congress. Western Equality will now be able to apply for many more grants to assist our community. Western Equality looks forward to help from everyone to apply for these grants. If you would like to help; please feel free to contact our Grand Junction office and let us know how you can help. Western Equality is continuing to expand all of the services it provides to expand and strengthen the GLBT community here on the Western Slope.
Please help us to continue to grow and increase the programs that our community needs, so that, ALL of the GLBT community's needs may be met.

Volunteers >>>
Western Equality is looking for a few volunteers. We now have a board member that has the pleasure of maintaining a list of people willing to help. If you have a spare hour or two then feel free to find out when and where you are needed. A few of the things can be done in the office such as filling, newsletter mailings, cleaningk, organizing, computer related work, making phone calls to help maintain the resource directory. We need help with event planning, coordination, setup, as well as, closure or post-event equipment collapse to return it to our storage facilities after the events are completed. More volunteers are needed to assist us in saving time and money associated with providing community events.
Some things may even be done at your home. If you have any special skills that would come in handy please let us know. A new email system has been established just for our volunteers. Volunteer Now!
