Emergency Shelter Program
Once again this year Western Equality will be participating in the Emergency Shelter Program or ESP. The dates that the homeless men will be at our location are December 22 2013 until January 4th 2013. We need two volunteers each night and we will need food donation for the men to have dinner and breakfast. Please begin to check what you would be able to donate. This year we are also planning on being here on Christmas day and new year's day so that the men have someplace out of the cold to stay out of the cold when every place that they could go is closed those days.
Please contact Western Equality and let us know if you would like to volunteer to spend the night with this wonderful group of men or if you can help us out with food and snacks for them. You can call us at (970) 242-8949 and leave a message or send an email to email@example.com.
Western Equality has done this for the last two years and we have had a great group of both volunteers and men. It is a great time to share our time with those in our community.
Colorado Civil Unions took effect today May 1 2013. Thank you to all that worked so hard to get this passed. Take time to thank One COlorado for all of their hard work and support tothe LGBTQ community.

Call for Event Planning Volunteers
Soon Western Equality will be planning next year's events. There are three major events each year Masqueerade, Pride Fest West and Out Fest. Planning these events take many people with new ideas. If you are one of these talented individuals with some great ideas and a few extra hours per month please contact the Western Equality office at firstname.lastname@example.org Remember many hands make light work. We have always pulled together and gotten much done.
Western Equality Board has developed a new 4 year work plan
On August 13 2011 the Board of Western Equality spent all day working on the next 4 year work plan. What this means is we have developed a plan of what direction Western Equality will be taking over the next 4 years. There is a lot planned and as usual we cannot accomplish this without the help of each and every one of you. This plan when finalized will be placed on the web site so that everyone can see what we will be working on. It is the hope of the board that you will get involved and help grow Western Equality.
Please help us to continue to grow and increase the programs that our community needs, so that, ALL of the GLBT community's needs may be met.

Western Equality April 2013 Newsletter
Western Equality is looking for a few volunteers. We now have a board member that has the pleasure of maintaining a list of people willing to help. If you have a spare hour or two then feel free to find out when and where you are needed. A few of the things can be done in the office such as filling, newsletter mailings, cleaning, organizing, computer related work, making phone calls to help maintain the resource directory. We need help with event planning, coordination, setup, as well as, closure or post-event equipment collapse to return it to our storage facilities after the events are completed. More volunteers are needed to assist us in saving time and money associated with providing community events.
Some things may even be done at your home. If you have any special skills that would come in handy please let us know. A new email system has been established just for our volunteers. email@example.com
